Trainers Methods

Postby Miles Ahead » Tue Jan 12, 2010 5:58 pm

Henry Cecil said in the ATR interview that he trains his horses at home on the gallops to finish in a line, which is the opposite to Mark Johnston I suspect, coupled with 'Singspiel' in the breeding of 'Capricornus'...going standard=slow, I think that why the horse lost today ..........any thoughts? _icp1

I thought there were other reasons why the MJ horse lost today, Miles, but I know little about breeding, so you'll have to wait for the experts.

atb,

PJ.

ps
I meant to add that, imo, C will win at Southwell on the real sand.

No thoughts?........no worries I've asked M.J. on his forum and don't expect a reply there.

Christ on a bike!...What a Tw*t.......M.J. did answer and almost took my head off, as if I accused him of hold-up tactics...."I don't give instructions to any jockey"

hilarious Miles -ive just read the full thing--

Singspiel    thats the sort of mistake i make...hg

But " ."I don't give instructions to any jockey"

thats interesting isnt it? So as a trainer its not your remit to consider the opposition and the pace profile of the race --- _icp1 _icp1

i would have instructed Callan to track the wildman from D (1) and if he didnt make it which he didnt go yourself BUT IF THEY GO NO PACE -for F***s sake get out there and mix it up.

I think i might enter this forum and see what i can get out of MJ.Hes the most important trainer in terms of nos and it would be worth the effort to get inside of.

He's answered again....Re: Cecil training....."Henry Cecil trains his horses to finish in a line Eh? is that in a line, one in front of the other or in a line like a dead-heat"
This is the sort of answer one of the top trainers gives. :-?

There are some right numpties on that forum. Absolutely clueless, and MJ didn't take my advice about where to run Duelist, he would be winning tomorrow if he had listened to me.

The Kempton race tomorrow is so much easier than the Wolves race he finished 2nd in. 6f is ideal at this stage of Duelists career being by Dubawi and from a family of 6f to 8f winners, it's a speedy pedigree, he will get 7f and a probably a mile in the future.

I doubt if MJ would take advice from anyone..remember his episode with Mrs Dunnett for example
