Flatstats Trainer Form page Help
Basics
The Flatstats Trainer Form page displays information about hot and cold trainers. The page displays a table with information such as number of recent wins, profitability of the trainer for the last 50 runs, and the number days since a win. This information is used to create a Trainer Form Index.
The TFI indicates if a trainer is on the hot or cold list. The figure is calculated from recent and past results and is weighted to identify trainers who are currently experiencing a change in fortune, or could be about to experience a change in fortune. If a TFI is higher than 1.00 then the trainer is having a good run whilst a TFI less than 1.00 means the trainer is 'out of form'.
Table Columns
The table columns show the basic race info such as the race, horse, ratings and current prices. Next the trainer and the TFI figure is listed.
The rest of the table shows the stats which are used to calculate the TFI. They include stats such as the A/E (value indicator) and ROI% (profit indicator) for the trainer's lifetime starts, the past 50 days and last 28 runs. Also shown are the trainer's total number of runners, total runners in the past 28 days, the number of runs and days since a win and the number of places the trainer has had.
Each column is sortable. If you click on the trainer name column you can sort the table alphabetically and thus make it easier to find a specific trainer in the list. If you sort by TFI you can quickly see those at the top (high TFI figures) and those at the bottom (low TFI figures and thus those most out of form). If you want to find out which trainer has gone the most days without a win click the Days column under Since Win. This will sort the table by the number of days since the trainer last had a winner.

TF2
Trainer Form 2 is a different way of determining if a trainer is in or out of form. Whilst the TFI figure looks at recent changes in value for the trainer, TF2 examines the prices and finishing position of the trainer's runners in order to try and find hidden ability or lack of ability. You can view the TF2 figures on the right of the table (365/84/28/14/7). These figures show the scores for the last 7 days, 14 days etc. A good positive score indicates that the trainer is doing well with his runners.
